Clerk Duties:

The statutory duties of the Clerk are numerous, technical and legally essential to the proper operation of municipal government.  The Clerk is the official keeper of the Township records and acts as the Freedom of Information Coordinator.  In addition to those items required by law, the Clerk’s office prepares the agendas for all regular board meetings and any special board meetings and further prepares the minutes of each board meeting.  The position of Clerk is an elected one.  Some of the duties and responsibilities of the Clerk are defined by state statues, and include, but are not limited to:

- Maintain custody of all Township records;
- Recording and maintaining Township meeting minutes;
- Keeping the township book of oaths;
- Responsible for special meeting notices;
- Publishing board meeting minutes;
- Keeping voter registration files;
- Conducting elections;
- Planning and Zoning;

- Finance, Purchasing and Accounts Payable, and
- FOIA Coordinator
