ALARM SYSTEMS

TO: All Lake Township Property Owners

The Caseville Area Fire Protection Association (C.A.F.P.A) has asked us to advise all Lake Township property owners that they are officially informing all Residents, Non-Residents, and Business Owners of this area with alarms that it is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to have a responder with a key willing to take responsibility to stay on the scene until the owner arrives to reset the alarm, or unless the responder can reset it.  They must be listed with your alarm company, live within 30 minutes of the home and be able to respond during the alarm at any hour.  If they have a key, they must be able to open the home and allow fire personnel to check out the home if needed.  If YOU DO NOT have anyone listed with the alarm company, you will be charged a flat fee of $500.00 for each additional false alarm incident after the first false alarm.

FAQ

Do Township Board members receive extra compensation for special meetings?

Several people have questioned the burden of cost on the public for extra Board Meetings being called within the same month. The concern is the wages for the five (5) board members. Be at ease knowing they are salaried employees, and as such, receive no extra wages other than the annual wage set for their position.

Notice

HOUSEHOLD GARBAGE PICK-UP SURVEY

Diva Disposal has contacted the Lake Township Board of Trustees regarding a proposal they would like to offer for curbside trash pickup with recycling.  Residents would be charged for this service on their tax bill (vacant lots would not be included).   Lake Township currently offers trash drop off for a fee at the Township Transfer Station on Sand Road with free monthly recycling drop off and free drop off of grass clippings, leaves, and small brush.

The Board of Trustees would like to hear from residents as to whether they prefer maintaining the current drop off facility or would rather have curbside pickup at a rate to be determined by accepting bids from local sanitation services.  This would only be pursued if there is enough interest in this pickup service.

Submit your response via email to (info@laketownship.net) or by mail to P. O. Box 429 , Caseville , MI 48725 and include your Lake Township property address.
